VSI-thinking has been developing web sites since the inception of the commercial web in the UK. An early pioneer in database driven web sites, VSI-thinking produced one of the first used car web sites, CarWorld, two years before Autotrader.
Our approach to web development has been to package our service into a number of distinct modules of functionality. This makes understanding the proposition and choosing the right solution far easier for our clients. This has been a hugely successful approach for VSI-thinking with many clients choosing a few modules at first and then continuing the development of their site with additional modules as traffic and business permit.
Our wider ranging expertise in database development extends across MS SQL, MySQL, Access, Oracle and SAP. We provide a range of systems, including eCommerce product catalogues, reservation systems, shopping baskets, marketing databases (CRM) and management information services (MIS). Our web-based database applications can be accessed from any browser on a computer, tablet or mobile phone.
The testing schedule for the web site will include; browsers, platforms, live site and test cases. Through the development cycle the web site will be tested on PC and Mac browsers including older browser such as; IE 6.0, IE 7.0 and the latest such as; Chrome, Firefox, Opera, IE and Safari. A test case document will be prepared to test functionality and record the outcome of those tests. This process, part of the VSI-thinking development, will be provided to the client for their own acceptance testing. The development web site is published on a live test URL for soak testing before going live. Following the hand over of the web site, VSI-thinking will continue to support the document controlled acceptance testing.
